About
Headquartered in Brighton, United Power is the not-for-profit electric cooperative serving more than 115,000 meters along Colorado's northern Front Range. The growing territory includes some of the Denver metro area's fastest-growing communities. Cities and towns supplied in whole or in part by United Power include Brighton, Fort Lupton, Hudson, Keenesburg, Firestone, Frederick, Dacono, Erie, Mead, Johnstown, Broomfield, and Thornton. In addition to a large front range territory, United Power supplies power to a non-contiguous territory in the Coal Creek and Golden Gate canyons.
Local control is the hallmark of the rural electric industry, and United Power is no exception. The cooperative is overseen by a member-elected board of directors. Members enjoy the ability to have a voice in the operation of their electric cooperative by voting in annual director elections, running for a board seat, or through a number of member committees.
Commitment to the communities we serve is illustrated in a number of ways. Sponsorships of community events, support of local economic development groups and chambers, and active participation in local government helps the cooperative better meet the growing needs of the communities we serve. Understanding each city or town's growth plans helps United Power plan for the future.
